Ryu Watabe
Ryu Watabe, also known as RYU, is the voice provider for Ma-san, Joe Chin, Captain Fussenpepper and Chop Chop Master Onion in all of the games. He is also a radio personality, rap artist and record producer.
Ryu worked together with Gabin Itou and Masaya Matsuura to format the lyrics to the games, by interpreting Itou's Japanese writing into English rap/dialogue on the spot, which would be refined over time by him and Matsuura who would share notes. His voice recordings served as temporary dialogue for both the songs and cutscenes during production.[1]
